Baby Jake was born on December 6, 2007. He's changed so much from these photos, but I just love these photos!! Isn't he precious?!?! If you saw the maternity shots that I took in November, this is the sweet little thing that was campin' out! Rita and William feel so blessed to have Jake!

How did it go?
I said in the last post that I would let you know how driving in the snow went...well, the verdict is in. Not so good. I'm not kidding...I got into my very first accident! Seriously! I am okay, no one else was involved. I didn't get a ticket b/c it was caused by snowy and icy weather conditions. As I was driving in West Virginia, I was on the interstate, coming down a hill, gravity took it's toll at the same time that I drove over a long patch of slush. I pumped my brakes (as instructed) my car slid all over the place facing oncoming traffic. It kept slidding and stopped when the back of my car hit the guard rails...protecting me from going down the mountain. The back of my car (or Avis' car) was completely crushed. The trunk won't close and I lost a tail light. I must say that there are some very friendly people here in West Virginia!
As I was telling my Dad about this, he told me that my older sister got into a small accident yesterday in Baton Rouge. She and Brooks are fine. He said he was going to call my younger sister, Whitney, to tell her to be careful on the road!!
You can't make this stuff up, people.

"Red sky at night...
...sailor's delight. Red sky in morning, sailor's warning!" That's something my Dad always told me when we saw a red sky. Does it predict good weather or bad? Depends on the time of day. If you know this little rhyme, you're good to go!
It's been raining a lot in Baton Rouge the past few weeks, and as I was nearing my home from the airport yesterday afternoon, I came upon this beautiful sunset behind the LSU lakes. It was simply stunning. As any photographer knows, this beauty only lasts for several minutes...not nearly enough time to capture a photograph. But, lucky for me, I was coming back from my cousin Carmen's wedding (photos are coming!), so I had my camera with me. By the time I turned my car around to capture this beauty, it had already begun to set. But, I did capture a few photos of this beautiful sunset. I just *love* the reflection onto the lake...like a mirror image! The water was so still. You can even see the detail of the sky...in the water!
When I left Baton Rouge this morning, it was a comfortable, cool 50 degrees. Right now, I am in West Virginia, where it is a frigid 0 degrees...no, that's not a typo...the lady at the front desk of my hotel just told me that it is 0 degrees outside. Of course, the windchill factor is lower. I'm afraid to ask how low. I do have one pressing question...how does one, raised in South Louisiana, drive in the snow?! I'll let you know how that goes...
